For thirty-one years I taught children how to really look at things. Not to glance. To see. To hold a color up to the light until it told you something.
Every summer I came down to Naples — and every time I turned onto Fifth Avenue with the sun on my shoulders, a quiet voice asked me the same question: What if you made something of your own?
I was afraid of that question for a long time. Then my daughter Claire said it out loud. "Mom. You've spent your whole life telling kids to be brave enough to make something. When are you going to listen to your own lesson?"
I handed in my notice. I moved to Naples for good. And on a bright morning on Fifth Avenue, with my heart pounding, I opened the door of Atelier Anne for the very first time.
This is my favourite summer sale. Every piece I chose for this atelier was chosen the way I once chose a lesson — with intention, with care, with the woman in front of me in mind. Not what photographs well. What makes a woman feel completely, beautifully like herself. Everything at the lowest prices I've offered all year.
Find the piece that makes you stop. Trust that instinct. I built this entire atelier around exactly that moment.
With love,
Anne
